Understand the result
How much advertising budget do you need?
An advertising budget estimate starts with the conversions you need, the share of clicks expected to convert and your average cost per click. Required clicks equal the conversion goal divided by conversion rate. Multiplying those clicks by CPC gives the estimated media budget.
How to use this calculator
- Choose a conversion goal, such as leads, purchases or booked consultations.
- Enter an expected click-to-conversion rate using comparable campaign data.
- Enter average CPC and calculate the implied budget and cost per conversion.
How to interpret your result
Treat the output as a scenario, not a spending guarantee. CPC and conversion rate can shift with audience size, competition, seasonality and landing-page changes. Run conservative and optimistic assumptions before committing a budget; the estimate excludes fees and production costs.
Frequently asked questions
What if I do not have a conversion rate yet?
Use a clearly labelled assumption and test a range. Replace it with observed campaign data once you have enough relevant traffic rather than treating an industry average as your own result.
How do I know whether the planned CPA is affordable?
Compare it with the gross profit from the conversion. For lead generation, use the target cost-per-lead calculator to include close rate and the amount of gross profit available for acquisition.
